Hi Ray,
While I have always been in the market for a 450-.400, I never owned yours or any for that matter.

After I see what Leupold has to say about the scope...I was thinking about sending it in to G&H and seeing what there assessment is of the mount.

Damn,
I sold my 450-400 some years ago to a vet in Texas, somewhere around Dallas, would have sworn it was you..He was well known with the AR group in Dallas as I recall..oh well, my memories are dimming almost daily..Maybe someone will give me a wake up call on him..Heck of a nice guy.

At any rate the G&H side mounts are right up there in the top 2 or 3 of all time..I get a kick out of the gun dealers at gun shows, they tell you, oh that mod. 70s been ruined as its not original, What? not even with a set of $1800 mounts!! Those guys can be dumber than a box of hammers..Maybe on a new gun in the box, but even then it would be argueable..

I am an equine orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine vet on the Red River on I-35 halfway between DFW & OKC.

Maybe "Dr Scott" on AR bought your rifle...he is a vet and a DSC officer.

I wish I did own your 450-400...have always wanted one.
