Well a few weeks ago we (Australian Hunting.Net) had our annual "Wodonga Big Bore" shoot, this has been going now for four years and has been getting bigger and better every year, this year i think we had approx 50 to 60 members (plus family etc) turn up from all around Australia, bloody good for an internet based forum.

A collage of pics taken by one of the members

Sometimes, I´m thinking, I was born on the false continent. Such events I miss in Germany.

My goodness... I thought we had big bores at the Texas Hoot and Shoot, but cannons? You Aussies know how to let the lead fly!

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Bwana we do have cannons here in Texas, jusr NOT table top models.

The range at the Houston Hoot & Shoot, would have a fit if I brought it and shot it.

HogKiller,
Actually ... we had a 2" gun there. Big Grin Apparently a 1/4 sized replica of some Confederate artillery piece.

A lot of fun was had ... and a few have rushed out to buy/build a new lot of bigbores. animal DWJs were taken ... but only informally. Next year the bigbores will water the grass as we'll incorporate a 3 shot 'clear the table event'.
Cheers...
Con

Thanks for the replies fellas tu2.

Yes we had an absolute ball and plans are being made already for next year.

Like Con said, there is mega talk at the moment from a lot of guys about building new big bores for next year, so hopefully have recruited a few to the ranks.

We had the small cannons last year, this is the first year we had "Big Betsy".
