Attached is a photo from today's trip to the range with my Heym M88 .470 NE double. Picture is of my first four shots with a load of H4831SC (108 grains) with a 500 grain Woodleigh bullet. Next two shots were a group about an inch and a half wide. The Federal factory rounds averaged 2107 fps. The handloads averaged 2081 fps. I think it is time to leave well enough alone. This load should should get the job done!

Suffice it to say that I was pleased. By the way, taking a Sharpie and darkening the bullets to shoot through the chrono worked like a champ. No errors this round.

hijack

and what do you think about 105gr powder, 700gr bullet, and 2130fps?

LMAO

on a lighter note, the 470 AR (which mike will be shooting today) only takes 82gr to take a 500gr to 2300...
