Does anyone have a Barnes manual. I've ordered some 350 Tripple Shock Bullets to try in my 416 Rem Mag and don't know where to start. I'm interested in using Rel. 15 and/or Varget. I'd appreciate the starting and max loads for these two powders along with any accuracy recommendations.
Thanks for any help.

My Barnes manual does not have the triple shocks, but for the 350 gr. xfb and their solid 350 gr. they show a starting load of 79.0 gr. R-15 @2519 fps, up to a max of 84.0 gr. for 2678 fps. and this is their recommended powder. They do not show Varget. I just bought this manual last month and noticed that it has a 2001 copywrite. Maybe they have brought out a newer manual. Hope this helps.

Not exactly the same but it may help you. I tried rel 15 in my 416 Hoffman(near twin to 416 Rem), I settled on 77 gr 4064 with the 400gr tsx. 2400fps excellant accuracy.

I have settled with Rel 15 for the 416. When I was working up loads for my 416 Rem Mag I found that Varget had a very high percieved recoil when compared to Rel 15.

I do not have a bullet to measure. Could someone please calcualte the SF value of this bullet for us. Once we have the value, we could better assess where it stands relative to its stability in air. The standard twist rate (CIP) is 1 turn in 16.5:

It may provide a clue to the above question or it may not ...

I use 80.0 grains R-15 for the 350 and 400 grain bullets, its a simple and accurate load. You can push them faster, but there no practicle reason to. I get 2450 fps with the 350 Barnes TSX and 2375 fps with 400 TSX.
