I have two 1935 Chilean, two 1935 Brazilian and two 1909 Argentine actions. I already have a 9.3x62 on a Peruvian and am having a .275 Rigby built on a G33/40. Trying to focus on "classic" cartridges, although I realize some might argue with my list.

Question:
If you were going to build six other rifles on these actions from the .275 Rigby up, what would your first choice be?

Choices:
9.3x64
.375 H&H
.416 Rigby
10.75x68
.404 Jeffery
.458 Win
.500 Jeffery

Mike, I voted 404J. The 9.3x64 would be my second choice for these actions. To me the 375 and 416 are to long for a Mauser in MHO.

Since you have a 9,3x62 and a 275, either a 404 or a 458 would be my choice.

Could you turn your 62mm into a 64mm? Don't know why'd you would want to. They're both classic and efficient cartridges.

Go with a 9.3 and a 404J... my reasoning, it's what I'm going for. Maybe top it off with a 450 Rigby. Nothing on earth you couldn't kill, or at least scare off in a hurry with those three.

275 Rigby would be a keeper as well, and the more I hear and read about this 10.75x68, the more I think I and you both need one. Pondoro didn't dig it, but Keith Richards didn't like Stratocasters either.

What great combo the above would be. You have plains game and dangerous game covered at the extremes and the 9,3 can do the work of either calibre in a pinch. Perfect!

Glad you added the .458 Winchester Magnum to the list. It is a Solid Gold Classic. The other two are the .425 Westley Richards and .505 Gibbs.
