I have read a number of posts referencing instances of failure to feed from the left side. Most recently this was noted in the 500 MDM discussion about a CZ-550 458 Lott that would not chamber a certain bullet from the left side of the magazine. I note, also, in a 416 Rigby and a 375 Ultramag I own that cartridges feeding from the left side require a little massaging. They do feed but they require a bit of coaxing. These things noted, how are these problems corrected, if at all. Thanks,

where is the problem ? What is happening to the round that requires "coaxing" for it to chamber. is it hitting the top of the chamber before falling back and allowing it to be chambered ? (Same as used to happen on Win mod 70 458 WM) Is it the round on the left sits differently than the one's on the right and so is picked up differently ? Is the feed ramp different, even by a very small margin ? Feed ramps are often an issue.

Of course I dinked with mine but always lucked out before going beyond the point of no return. Sometimes the rail cutout needs to be cut a bit further back to let the shell pop out quicker, and sometimes the feed ramp needs to be ground down because it won't let the bullet feed in without bumping it up, and sometimes the spring is too soft or hard, and sometimes the follower is screwed up. Unless someone has really screwed it up, it's fixable. Just depends on whether you want to chance it or send it off to someone that probably knows. Good luck whatever you decide. ------------------------------- Will Stewart / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. if you aren't a gunsmith, do NOT remove any metal from your gun. best way to fix it to wrap 10-15 $10 bills around the barrel and send to a gunsmith that specializes in making them feed. opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Jeffe is 100% CORRECT!!!!! This is a very very delicate matter, which one can go too far before you have a clue you have done so. This is a pretty specialized issue. Of course Brian at SSK is my expert at this, so I leave it to him. Not just anyone can do this either, don't trust joe blow gunsmith at the local shop!
