My PH in 700HE holds 2 down, Picture is
on the 12ga FH thread.

The 1999 isn't same huge, big diameter action
as the PH, it is little smaller. Work for 585,
Gibbs, Lott etc. With 585HE, full loads, 14lbs
and super thick pad, handle recoil ok.
My PH 700HE long case is 25lbs.
Have switch barrel for this one also
in my super hotrod 585 HSM.
Other PH guy has in my 700H 3.25, 21 lbs.
Weight is without brakes, a little top of the
muzzle porting is better.Ed

You can certainly make any translation out of it you want, that's your call. And I hold not ill will towards anyone who does.

But the fact is I just have not had time to get on here in the last 6 months. I'm not sure where you are translating that into a "it's not my fault" whine? It's not my fault that I have not been able to respond here..?

I don't get paid to respond here, I get paid to do my job and I have been here in the office on a daily basis so if you need updated info you can always call here. I try to respond here as a courtesy to the folks who have a PH on order. If you guys need more info than that PLEASE call me.

But by the earlier post I was trying to explain (and maybe you don't have kids or never had that many that close?) that in the evenings I have not had time to post either. It was never meant as a whine? It was simply a "sorry I have not had time to post guys".

I now have two new salesman trained, will have a new Production Manager starting next monday and a new Inventory Manager starting soon, so that is taking a lot of stuff off my plate. Hopefully that will free up some time needed to respond to any questions you guys have.

Hope that helps. GOD Bless!

It's refreshing to see a small company expand into something greater, even if it is a struggle to get ahead. Gun lovers should be patting you on the back in light of all of the "big gun company" buyouts and consolodation which have actually made these factories quality-wise, WORSE. Good job Jeff.

name ONE, other than USRAC-( which was a failure and is now being run with a profit)...

all the remington buys have turned around and are keeping their doors open.

but i can name 10, without trying, that are run by people that are trying to make a "great product" and utterly fail at running a business.

Kimber of X, then Y, then Z to name three .. which of the 3 asquares? dakota (twice).. etc etc etc.. heck, there's 8 .. marlin.. dpms.. bushmaster... do i really need to go on?

Or, perhaps we should discuss being distracted from the matter at hand, with other, larger, contracts, and not saying "dang, we got ate up with making barrels for ABC company/Government and didn't focus on making these low volume actions."

THAT is an honest answer

well in this case; failed at having deep pockets and huge financing,

....and not being on gov libturds green doner list no gov help there....

And the barrel making is a separate company, not him...

But in this one special instance, that is where we come
in, we helped get action line started with relatively little money. .
We helped out, to get a special big action never before available
reasonable, and we denigrate ourselves, to diminish what we
collectively have accomplished with him. Actions are being
delivered and a bigger, better shop is coming on line day by day..Ed

I doubt that anybody that hasn't tried it can imagine the difficulty of running a manufacturing operation in the US today.

Business lessons MTJ -if you have time to write a defensive post, you had time to write a positive one and keep people informed to avoid it in the first place, period.

Also you are actually paid to be here, or anywhere talking to customers, indirectly. Unless you are supplying arms for a communist regime everything you do relates to customers, period. If you want to eat that is.

Lastly, if you are compelled to complain about your customers complaining you should be looking for a different target group altogether that keeps you happier.

Big Stick, I responded to your PM, but I am in today as well.

Karl, Not sure what to say there? But thats a reason that keeps so many other companies from posting. I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say or I wrote it wrong? I am NOT complaining about our customers, nor trying to make a defensive post? I was trying to explain that I cannot get on here as much as I would like to. The only reason I even saw this was because I got an email saying I had a private topic so I came on to respond to that and saw your post. I really do not mean for any of my posts to offend people and sorry if some take it that way, but that is why I stated PLEASE CALL me. Heck, I have had arguments with my wife via email because she got some kind of "tone" from an email and I had to call her to tell her thats not what I meant! haha So please if you think there is an issue please call me. I think it's best if I stay off here and get back to work.
I hope you guys understand.

I have my two actions so I'm not complaining, but will offer some business advice.
Since leaving the corporate world, I started my own business nearly 4 years ago. Its been incredibly successful and my buisness which involves some manufacturing but is more science based, usually involves telling lots of wealthy and powerful people what they really don't want to hear. My basic buisness principal is simple " ONLY DO WHAT YOU SAY YOUR GOING TO DO, ON TIME". When things take longer, i.e shit happens, I communicate harder and more frequently. The people I deal with spin out of control rapidly if that doesn't happen and bad things happen as a result. You can't over-communicate with customers and you can't understand how much they appreciate it. A good reputation takes forever to build and can be lost in a second. You can't imagine how much information you can find on the internet on companies and frankly lots of folks and I in particular use that info to make business decisions. I'm in no way lecturing, just providing some insight. Whenever I look at successful companies, one thing sticks out and thats the importance they place on good communication with customers, employeees, Government agencies. etc.
Jeff- Your a good guy in my book ,but you may find that this kind of communication isn't your cup of tea. The answer is hire someone who likes it and make it part of their job. Do a newsletter, or a email list communication. Trust me, you'll be glad you did and your business will prosper.
-Rob

Holy Crap!! Give the guy a break. I must admit I’ve been a little antsy to get my action, and do throw what may be considered juvenile humor at the subject, but! I really have no idea what battles the boys at MRC are fighting getting these into production. What I do know is, Jeff has sent me numerous emails to keep me informed and up to date on the status of my order, and has responded respectfully and promptly to all emails I have sent him.

I guess my view is a little different than some, but! It’s an action, a new toy, I’m waiting for. It’s not like I’m on a transplant list waiting for a kidney. I did order a long barrel so if I’m too old to hunt when it shows up I’ll have a totally bad ass crutch to hobble around on. In all seriousness I do expect to see my action real soon and getting my panties in a wad will not get it here any quicker.

OK the first Stainless Steel PH actions shipped out today!! I have about a dozen that finished QC today and 6 went out as just actions and 6 others that are having barrels put on. Our Shop guys work 4 10s so they are off tomorrow but I am going to try and QC the next batch myself... if I have time, training a new guy on bluing so assuming that will take all day. Needless to say they are finally shipping and shoudln't be long before everyone has theirs and we can hopefully move past this.
GOD Bless!

I ordered my SS 505 Gibbs bolt face PH action in October of 2010. Just got a call that it was shipped out to my gunsmith today. Looking forward to finally putting this rifle together. I hope it is worth the wait!

Now that these things are shipping, what types/brands of stocks are being used in the builds? I'm looking at a Pendleton Composite or an MPI so far. Not a lot of options out there at the moment.

Accurate Innovations (www.aigunstocks.com) is running a discount on the standard MRC 1999's for the month of April. They've not yet had enough demand for the PH to develop stocks for them, but many MRC/AI stock owners say the full length chassis in wood is a huge boon to accuracy/consistent harmonics. Y'all check them out!

contact Wayne at AHR. He built mine, and had his stockmaker do a pattern. He sold it to someone here, and can provide that information. MRC was supposed to have patterns made for laminate and standard.
