What is the preference on the dot size for shots less than 100 yds?

I've a 2MOA dot on my .458 Lott and I find it neither wanting for more nor too much of a good thing. Plenty accurate enough for 100yds on that rifle and still a good draw for my eye for fast snap shooting in close.

I just installed a Leupold with 2 moa dot on my CZ .505 Gibbs, zeroed at 50 yards it seems to be plenty usable at 100 yards also.
