if they had an indentical shoulder angle, neack length, and overall length, the RUm will have a slightly larger capacity, as the base diameter is slightly larger.

Jeffe,
You are right. However Remington brass is notoriously lesser in capacity for a given caliber than say ... a Winchester case. Something about the brass thickness and density used by Remington, not a bad thing, but must be taken into account.

Nevertheless, Saeed's .375/404 or ".375 UAE" was said to be about 119 grains of water case capacity, once upon a time, by His Highness Himself.

I have measured .375 RUM cases at 120 grains of water capacity.

They are hardly different.

My .375 Lapua is a shorter case with the same capacity. I get a little bigger capacity than the .375 RUM by seating the bullets out in the shorter case, to fill a .416 Rigby length box.

Yep,
.375 UAE (United Arab Express)
.375 RUM (Remington Ultramag)
.375 LRO (Lapua RIPoff)

They are all 120 grains +/- 1 grain.

However Saeed uses his in a Rigby-length box (Dakota 76 African) with his long-nose Walterhog 300 grainer.

I have CZ 550 Magnums for the .375 RUM and the .375 LRO, and both have been given the same throat as the 2001 vintage .375 Wby, hence they can use 300 grain GSC and TSX bullets seated out in the 3.8" box.

Very little difference in all three.

All three deserve a 300 grain bullet at a modest 5000 ft-lbs. of muzzle energy.

The gas cutting torch is not a problem on these throats. hammering
