I've a box of 300gr lead .458 bullets. I'd like to load some up for shooting paper, rock's and dwg's. Any suggestions what to use for powder and where to start? How about XMP5744?

I've started using Hodgdon Trail boss for cast bullet loads in my .458. I,m loading 16.5 gr. behind a 300 gr. cast bullet. Haven't chronographed it yet but I'm thinking 1200 fps. Hodgdon lists this load for a 45-70 trapdoor. Trail boss is very bulky and burns well at low pressures.
