Now that I bought a BBK and no one has talked me out of it YET...

Remember, i have a 550 express, 500 jeffe, 470 AR, 458 AR, 416 AR, 458 Win, and just about every other silly thing a Texas Boar hunter doesn't need.....

Question:
What Should Jeffe build next? Results are non-binding Smiler

Choices:
600 OK
550 Gibbs
470 mbobo (my SN for an MRC PH is this)
550 Magnum
257 STW

Use it to make something special, put all of that big bolt face to good use. Maybe the .600 OK if you are interested, or maybe buy the rest of the .505 Gibbs parts and finish.

Marc,
I thought long and hard on the barrel, and the final decision was that I thought the #7 would be too heavy for *me*, but not for anyone else.

The bubba's already have a 505 to shoot!! Thanks Harry

Why mess around Jeffe? Why not build something that will throw some lead out there.

416 Barrett, shortened and necked down .50 BMG and would suit a Texas gun nut fine.

Jeffe, the 600 Ok or a 505 although a 470 Mbogo would be nice if you didn't have a MRC action on order.

Personally I think everyone needs a 600 OK. Simply one of the best big bores out there and surprisingly shootable.

Sent you an email about the 600 as I've got a bunch of components lying around here.

Will call you later.

I ordered the #8 contour so I would have enough meat to turn it to a profile that I wanted. If anyone else is interested in the barrel, I can turn the profile for you before I ship. For a small fee, of course.

I think a .257 caliber is terrific. I only know two guys with a 257 STW and they tell me this is one HELL of a cartridge....too much of a good thing.

I vote for the .470 Capstick. I realize it's not on your list but I think it is a fitting chambering.

Jeffe

You have to go 585, something about that mystical number. Go against the trend Jeffe, something different. How about a Nyati

I voted 550G but a 416Rigby woul dbe nice too. The action is really too big for the 257wby & would be a waste of a good big bore action. If you want to go that route, sell it or trade it for a more suitable action. A buddy built a 404j on one, turned out great, but I still think it's a bit big for that.

You need a coyote gun . I voted for the STW. Unless you just need to be hit in the head some more . #2 choice is the 470 .. It is real close to the 475 A&M a great round . salute animal . Do you have a 460 Whby yet ??

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Your right, with an action that big.....go for it.

But somehow I think you know the answer Jeffe........go on just do it.

The 600 OK all the way.
