Which ACTION do you think would be more accurate from the box, and which do you think is more "stout?" Thanks for your "enlightenment!" "They who would give up an essential Liberty for Temporary Security, deserves neither Liberty or Security." ---Benjamin Franklin "SIC SEMPER TYRANNUS"

Would be a shame to pull the Ruger barrel, what with the integral quarter rib and all. Rebore? I have a CZ, but its been fully worked over. For what I have into it I could have had a Ruger and a scope.

I voted cz550 both for the classic design and because those are the actions used by AHR and the CZ Custom shop in St Louis. I dont know that the Ruger will take as large a cartridge as the CZ. The CZ complete rifle or action can be purchased for less cost than a Ruger (I dont know if the Ruger action can even be purchased) Out of the box, the Ruger is a better gun - more reliable. For custom builds the CZ is a better platform - looks and price. I dont know about stout. I guess that would require some destructive testing. My vote.

For me the Ruger RSM's in 375HH and 458Lott were chosen primarily for the reason that they offer all the features most are looking for and not necessary to have additional modifications performed. Find them to be accurate, reliable, and the RSM barrel alone would be very expensive to duplicate with "one piece" rib on both top and bottom. As most Rugers, excellent scope mounting system and quality iron sights as well. Certainly not custom, but for the dollar, tough to equal.

i voted CZ, due to question ... the RSM is generally more or less perfected, right out of the box.. idiot proof? shootaway has 2 and they are holding up to all the goofing and cranking he can do one them i actually prefer the ruger mkII long action for sporters right now opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I own BOTH, in .416 Rigby, and thus is the reason that I was asking this question, and JFYI, the CZ will hold a round that is just a few thousandths longer, HOWEVER there is much less threads for the barrel shank in the CZ---the Ruger is about double the length in the barrel shank. I could give you the exact dimensions, but at this moment, I'm getting ready to go to work and am too lazy at the moment to disassemble just to measure the magazine box. They are very close, I can tell you that. Definitely correct on the Ruger (I WOULD HATE to remove that awesome integral ribbed barrel), it has one of the most beautiful stocks that I have ever come across on any "stock" rifle. I'll probably have to sell one or both of them soon, due to my back. An injury at work 8 years ago has given me severe scoliosis, and they are telling me that I need a complete fusion, and I even have a hard time even shooting my semi-auto AK without my back aching. Well my CZ550 has held up to over 750 rds of 600Ok so far. I have Nyati's, 470 MBOGO's etc on CZ550's and never had the slightest issue. How much more stout than that does it need to be? As far as accuracy, I'd worry more about the barrel than the differences inherent in a CZ or Ruger action.-Rob Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers to do incredibly stupid things- AH (1941)- Harry Reid (aka Smeagle) 2012 Nothing Up my sleeves but never without a plan and never ever without a surprise!

I was going to hang a heavy target barrel on it. I KNOW the action is a strong one, for sure. "They who would give up an essential Liberty for Temporary Security, deserves neither Liberty or Security." ---Benjamin Franklin "SIC SEMPER TYRANNUS"
