I just got an email in reply from NECG regarding their peep sights ... like the one they make that fits on the milled scope bases of Ruger rifles. I had asked if they could modify an existing sight to fit the CZ 550 or if they were contemplating making one. This is what they sent back:

So, if anyone is interested for a peep sight for thier CZ 550 ... looks like one will be available soon. Personally, I much prefer a good peep sight or ghost ring to the express sights any way.

Seems like they've been working on it forever. They also told me months ago that they were going to make drop-in front sight posts for the CZ 550 as well.

NECG doesn't make them, racknagel (?) does..

on the ashley outdoors (XO sight systems) their ruger adapts to CZ by drilling a a hole...

I have the ruger... i think if you milled/filed the "lump" off the inside, it would fit a CZ just fine

The other trickier option would be to make up a pop up peep sight like they had on the older Brno ZKK602? I,m after one of these old pop up peep sight models ,but if I cant find one ,the gunsmith has said it is no problem to make up a similar version for the CZ550.
