Hi anyone have real world Dangerous Game experience with using the 505 Gibbs and the 600g Woodleigh bullets, particularly the Protected Points and their Solids? I'm planning to load them to a leisurely 2150 fps. I was just curious as to the performance of the Protected Points in buffalo. I expect the solids to do well. I have not used the .505" Woodleighs. But I have killed an elephant using the .510" 600 grain Woodleigh solids in my .500 A-Square. I used H4350 and easily attained a velocity of 2,300 fps. I can testify from personal experience that that load worked on elephant. I have become a convert to Barnes bullets in my .500, however. They seem to be just about perfect.
