jeffe As far as I am aware Taipan is not bonded. The poster 500 Nitro will no the exact arrangement with Woodleigh. All I know is we can no longer buy the bullets from Woodleigh themselves. Personally I have never used many Woodleighs and have always been mainly Hornady and Speers 400 grain 458 and the Speer 130 grain 308 hollow point. My guess is that in Australia Woodleigh have a very big market share of a group of 375 and up shooters but overall it would be small compared to Hornady in 375 and 45. You will see on the forum NitroExpress.com that a lot of the Australians usu=ing Woodleighs are from the state of Victoria (where Woodleigh and Bertram also reside) and tend to be very Mauser orientated people. Actually, if I was an American and wanted a real top of the line 404 or 500 Jeffery made then I would get it made in Australia. Save lots of dollars and I think the product would be better than most in America. The custom rifle is the one area where we pay far less money than Americans and out top gunsmith people are right into 404, 505, 9.3 X 62 etc. One of our top stock makers, Ross Waghorn, has restocked over 200 double rifles. Alf aand some of the other blokes on this site would love Waghorn. He talks regulated velocities and how a proper custom should be bedded direct to the wood and so on. It would not suprise me if Waghorn has not heard of the WSMs or Rem Ultras. The state of Victoria where Woodleigh resides is the real headquarters of double rifles and 404s etc in Australia and also more "hunters" as opposed to "shooters". Mike | |||
