Mac,

Wby makes ammo for the 375 Wby although of course there was a long periof where they did not make the ammo.

Although I don't own a RUM and probably won't own one a mate of mine has 7mm RUM and two 300 RUMs.

I like them a lot and one reason being that they offer the maximum power readily available from the rifles such as Rem 700 and Model 70.

I continue to be amazed at the number of people who strongly support the 416 Rigby on the basis it can be loaded to low pressure to do the 2400....yet a 300 RUM loads to 300 Win ballistics with pure ease.

I am betting the 300 RUM will be around for quite a long time.

Actually it was designed by the Germans, Shuler to be specific.

Interesting , Paul , I had not heard that before.

So then the .500 was cooked up by a snot nosed German bean counter(grin)

There are very few truly "original" case designs out there , and I don't see not being "original" enough as detracting from the value of the RUM desgn . As Mike has said , the RUM case does max out the powder capacity for many of our common actions , and I think the .375 and .338 versions are very good cartridges for the reloader .

I wish I could find a 375 RUM, I would buy it...

I want to make a .404 Jefferys out of it, and see how that works, I think the box is right for that conversion.....

Mac,

Maybe not as big as Ray looking for a 375 RUM Big Grin

Ray,

Just go to http://www.longrangehunting.com and the place is full of RUMs

Just make sure you don't tell them about the rebated rim and Rem 700 bolt handles falling off....They have not read this sort of stuff at this stage Big Grin

Well actually you should start spreading the word so as to pick up some cheap ones Smiler

Mike378,

I like your style!

I just wish that my bolt handle would go ahead and fall off... or that my safety lock would go ahead and lock up... or that the inevitable double stack would actually happen at the range, all prior to my hunt in Alaska next week.

After reading all of the negative B.S., I am now afraid of my M700 .375 R.U.M.!!!!! Confused

Hopefully, it will get the job done on Mr Moose. Wink

If you are worried about feeding you can get an HS Precision in line feed magazine for that Rem 700 and that results in true controlled round feed. Smiler
