here are a few pictures of my mas36 in 10,75x68mm. they were made in the late 40's & early 50's. this on is dated 1950 under the fore arm. the 10,75's came with a banded front sight muzzel brake combo that while being ugly works very well, a spare front sight blade is housed in the fore arm. i still need to work on the trigger pull a little. the civilain rifles had a trigger block safety that mounted behind the trigger on to triggerguard.

This is the most uniqure bigbore I have ever handled. Jim brought it to the shoot, and the ONLY thing that stopped me from shooting all his ammo up is, well, 6 stitches in my right shoulder!

odd, cool, and nifty .. muzzle brake looks like a cutts comp .. and its really cool

the barrel measures .700 right behind the front sight & is 24" long to the end of the compensator.

I saw that at the shoot and thought "what a cool conversion". I think it's even cooler now that I know it's factory issue! There's no flies on a MAS. Kinder like French women that don't shave...they still function just fine!

I've had some fun with the MAS 36 and the 49/56 French service rifles. I would think that MAS would have considered reshaping the bolt handle for the civilian sporter, but apparently not. Cool rifle anyway!
