| I think shootaway did fine for shooting offhand. Wrong target for 100 yards. Go to targetz.com and go to page 7 and print off some of the big black circle targets. I assume you are using iron sights.
I shoot all of my military surplus rifles offhand. I think it builds confidence. If have a rest in the field and know how to use it, fine. There are going to be some shots where a rest is not going to be available in time to make the shot. I don't see anything wrong with practicing at 100 yards offhand. |

| Here is a target I shot today with the same rifle used to shoot the first target posted on this thread. This is my older Ruger and it has not been cleaned for quite some time. I have run out of JB and waiting for my order.I believe this is the reason the group or the point of impact was lower.I am going to give it a cleaning and it should go back to shooting a little higher.BTW,tt looks like I will be hunting lioness in 2012.I now have to get real good with my lott and open sights.100yds |

Thanks 390.I've used the black circle before and will do so again once everything is in order. |

| Shootaway,
Personally, I would not use JB's for routine cleaning. It will wear your bore out if used routinely.

465,have you experienced more wear when you've used it than when you did not? |

| It is very abrasive and if you read the directions it says to only use it to polish a new barrel or smooth an action.
