Due to the costs or original howdahs, and the BATF's reluctance to allow cartridge based shotguns to be shortened, I've long considered getting a 12 bore front stuffer double, and turning it into a howdah.

Wondering if anyone has done the same, and what parent front stuffer scatterguns make a good starting point.

Paul,

I think jeffeosso has a .58cal Pedersoli for sell. It would make a useable howdah, and there were .577 howdahs.

Too small, I figure with roundballs and pistol bp velocities, anything smaller than 12 bore wouldn't be of any interest to me nut
