I am planning to build a rifle in 460 g&a...need all the information I can get, specs.pictures.what kind of dies, ideas,barrel length and so on..... the action is a svedish husqvarna 640 the rest is open....

The .460 G&A was made by Tom Siatos in the 1970's on the .404 Jeffery case. It was made in the full-length and 2,5" version. In your Husquarna, the shorter one would be easiest to do. It will give about 200 fps more than the WinMag.

Dies can be had from everywere, probably easiest in Finland to have them ordered from RCBS. Barrel-length is optional, but I would not go below 22".

the GA short, made from 404 cases . .. I do not believe you will be able to make them from rum cases, which will be rebated on the rim and too thick at the case head... perhaps you can draw them (smaller=draw, larger=swage) down, but USE A ULTRA CASE HOLDER, not a 404, to do this with well lubricated cases.

the 458 AR (see ammoguide for load data) can do 500gr at 2400 with a 24" barrel

thank you, to the gentlemen who could contribute...if you in any case wonder ...about 460g&a, i have a 404 jeffrey and i thought it would be easier with the same kind of brass....
