My 375 H&H Model 70 is my Go-To rifle for Prairie Dogs. The ultimate varmint round!

I reserve my 404 Jeffery and 450/400 for the bigger stuff. Jack Rabbits, as long as I use a premium full metal jacketed bullet!

When a bull jack charges, there is no such thing as, "Too Much Gun"!

OK Guys,
Here's my 2 cents:

1) I think the current 3 catagories are about as best defined as they could be!
  • Big bores = .375 and up
  • Medium bores = .270 through .366
  • Small bores = Below .270

2) The PROBLEM arises when the discussions compare cartridges for game that span more than one catagory! For emample:
  • Heavy Varmit rounds from .243, 25/06 to .270
  • Pronghorn rounds from .243 to 300 mags
  • Especially, US deer rounds that can span .223 to 45/70s
  • Alaska dangerous game that span 30/06 to 375 (even some 416s)
  • African plains game rounds from 30/06 to 375 (even some 416s again)
  • African dangerous game from 366 to 470
  • African stoppers from 458 up to The Wisconsin's 16 inchers!

My thinking is to leave catagories as they are, realize that some over laps are inevitable and work with the system we have. It's easier for me to find something that might be posted in one catagory up or down rather than increase the number and have to look through more multiple catagories.

Saeed's forum and Saeed's rules. He uses his .375\404 for dangerous game. To very good effect. So if he says .375's are big bores on his forum, I think we all should surrender to his wishes.

Or start your own forum. Then you can make the rules. Perhaps all those who made a stink about it will follow to your site?
