Neck is very interesting:

.545" neck-1 diameter and .544" neck-2 diameter (certainly not .549" typo appearing, .544 it must be, just a little sloppy handwriting) making for a .405" neck length and a +/- "GHOST SHOULDER" so ghostly it's spooky.

Throat is also interesting:

Parallel-Sided Free-Bore Length = 0.150"
Parallel-Sided Free-Bore Diameter = 0.511"
Leade Angle = 1-degree-30' = 1.5-degree Leade

Necked-up 460 Weatherby brass should be shortened to maximum brass length of 2.794" and trim-to length should be 2.784", as indicated by the reamer dimensions and usual safety practices.

But if A-Square claims 2.800" maximum case length and trim-to length of 2.790", that is close enough.

Like a .458 Lott that has been pumping iron.

Apparently the transition from the greater case body taper to the lesser neck taper is visible at a glance of the naked eye,
either on the reamer or on the properly loaded cartridge.

Looks more likea ghost neck for alignment.

The accepted term is "ghost shoulder" as illustrated here,
with much greater taper from base to "ghost shoulder"
then the start of a much lesser taper from neck-1, at shoulder-neck juncture, to neck-2 at case mouth.

The neck is very clearly located, specified, and nothing ghostly about it.

Municion.org has a cartridge drawing of the 495 A-Square that does not agree with the reamer from Dave Manson.
But does it agree with the cartridge photograph that they show?
To my eyeball, the cartridge photo and Dave Manson reamer are the more compatible, but I cannot tell for sure.
Reloading dies can smooth things out.
Either way: GHOST SHOULDER

the unfired, unloaded Jamison brass shows the ghosting (probably lose it after loading), measures out per A2 drawing (emailed a copy).

The ghost shoulder that gives way from the significant case body taper to a nearly parallel-sided neck makes for good neck tension, good grip on the bullet.

confirmed case mouth is .544

The 495 A-Square with generous case-body taper and ghost shouldered, minimum-taper neck makes for an excellent DGR chambering.
Feeds well, grips bullet well.

anyhow, what about 1:12 for the 495 with 600g soft and 570 fmj.

1:12" is great.

if the cz550 mag. ribs are tapered from bottom to top, will this be a poor man's trapezoidal box? or just remove completely

See how it feeds with the ribs in the box first.
CZ uses ribbed boxes in the .505 Gibbs, 404 Jeffery, .416 Rigby.
It is cheap and easy to order the smooth-sided (458 Win.), greater-inside-width box from CZ-USA.
Experiment with hammering on the ribbed (375H&H) box after that.

my head is swimming with 1ft freebore or micro-inch or twist it out-of-sight vs slow roll, but I guess I buy into A2 or not (I did have a run in with Mr. Alphin and his lawyer over some brass...) but I feel A2
sometimes emphasis differences to sell his product.

on the other hand, he took the time and effort to document some of his products and this gets some credit.
