was wondering if any one has bought a Howa 1500 in 375 Ruger ???

Wonder how well that gun is .. I have seen they sell a barrled action in 375 Ruger and have a 24" and 20" option for barrel. I have in my stock colection a weatherby Vangard stock that has been piller beded and had called a local shop and can get a barrled action for $380 and thought that would be a good way to get in to one ... Just dont know how well they hold up and how accuret they would be

Since Weatherby uses the Howa barreled actions wouldn't that pretty much answer your questions?

well yes BUT just try to see if any one has one and their thoughts on it. I saw The Pig Man on TV shoot the 20" barrel one and droped a cape eland and that is what sparked my intrest in it

and with me not working I know I have 2 shotguns I can trade at that shop and they would get me the barrled action ... so kinda want to do it just trying to find out who has one on here and what length barrel they... I dont know if i should get the 24" or 20"

i've had a couple of these actions, under various names, but not in 375.. works out nice in what i have had ... get the 24.. you can always shorten it, but most guys can't even rent a barrel strecher

IMO it's a fantastic buy, I've handled one and its only marginally heavier than a 375 H&H Rem SPS and some might say better finished

Similarly it will ensure the calibre stays around for a long time, if you can buy it in a cheap HOWA action.

I have built a 416 Ruger in a Howa action and it function floorlessly without action modification.

AND .... it hasn't split the wood stock either ?

I recently picked up a Howa 1500 in 375 Ruger. (I had wanted the barreled action but had difficulty locating one, so I just went with the complete rifle.) I went with the 24" barrel and the blued version. I must say that I am fairly impressed with the rifle, especially in terms of fit and finish. I have yet to shoot it, mainly because I am trying to decide on what scope to put on it. (Also, the weather here has been pretty lousy.) There are a few things I'd like to change on it - switch the plastic follower for an aluminum one, change to a laminated stock although the Hogue is a pretty nice unit, and switch to a Timney trigger.

Howa is a good quality product, I think you will be happy.

The 375 Ruger is a great (and affordable) cartridge and with the 24" barrel, velocity should be smokin'!
