Regarding the ones lighter than 750-grain A-Max: Has anyone had these in hand yet? What is the bullet weight? 535, 570, 600? Do they measure a true .510" diameter? The Barnes TSX is under-sized at .508" to .5085" at biggest in the ones I have. Low velocity and poor accuracy. Woodleigh 600-grain PP soft: Do they measure a full .510"? Two outstanding bullets for the 500 Mbogo are: the GSC HV 450-grainer (trajectory like a 30-06 with 165-grainer) and the GSC FN 570-grainer (no better solid exists) I'll be looking for Hornady bullets for my "50-08."

Good deal, favorite weight, maybe tougher than a Woodleigh, if they ever show up!

I measured a 570 gr Weld-core and a 600 gr PP. Both measured 0.5095, assuming my (non-industrial) technique was good. analog_peninsula ----------------------- It takes character to withstand the rigors of indolence.

Thanks. Rounds to .510. Could be a good enough bullet for the 500 Mbogo. Keeping impact at 2250 fps or less. Beats a 500 NE, and that is pretty good.

The big Woodleigh PPs (350g) shot very well in my 375 H&H. It would seem like the 600g PPs in .510 caliber would be perfect for my 500 Jeffery, at 2150 fps. I just wish they would make them with a thicker jacket (maybe twice as thick?). They expand and hold together beautifully, but for tougher game it seems like more controlled expansion would be a plus to ensure bone breaking penetration. chuck375, I have never had any issues with the 0.510" Woodleighs breaking the bones of anything they hit!

I've shot the 550gr bullets out of my Lott. They went 2150 FPS. With the 500gr bullet they go 2280 FPS.
