I am satisfied with sights, trigger, scope (1.75X6) in warne mounts, Brockman sling eye, and original red pad. To make it as tough as a wood stock can get-- --Rod epoxied in wrist area? exactly what location and size? --Glass bedding full or action only? --Another cross bolt at rear of magazine? --Another coat of finish on checkering for moisture protection as well as any interior exposed wood?? Will this do all that can be done to strengthen and protect a walnut stock? I know a synthetic stock solves most of these problems-but just can't give up walnut and blue.

i use 1/4" brass or SS, and 5/16 or 3/8 drill.. crossbolts bed from the chamber back to the tang.. put a piece of duct tape on the radius of the tang, that will give you built in clearance run a checkering tool over the checkering if you like spray down 3 coats of pro custom gun oil, satin finish replace the pad with anything, including crush beer cans opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Thanks Jeffe, does the rod need to alaign with the grip angle or alaign with the grain flow towards the butt? Yes the red pad is a little stiff but better than the old ones. The gun came with a grind to fit limsaver but the installation was incomplete and I will install it properly later. Wally
