I stumbled upon a Browning, Belgium commercial Mauser CRF rifle in 375 H&H. The Widow told me her husband took it on Safari and bagged a buff with it. It's in great shape, a little honest wear, with a 3x9 Redfield wide view. It came with a box of Federal 300gr Partition that cost $40.99. Any idea as to its age? I can't wait to shoot it, and maybe take it to Africa one day. Unless I find a LH 375 to trade it for. Good luck and good shooting. I have the same, or similar, rifle that has been in my family for about forty years and bought off a friend. Mine is a push-feed, which I understand is a later model. I cannot help you more than this but shall follow this thread with interest.

Thanks for the assist. It's in fantastic shape for a 65 model. A great year, same as is new owner. I really wish the crank was on the left side. Good luck and good shooting. Howdy, You have a great rifle. In my mind the Early Browning Safari was the best off rack rifle available at that time. I remember drooling over them in the little gun shop across the street at the filling station when I was a kid. I've owned 3 and still have a 300 WM. Great shooters. Mark MARK H. 1965 should be free of salt wood, salt didn't come along till few years later. I have one in 300 win mag that is getting a tune up right now and going to use to kill a once in a lifetime Nebraska bull elk next month.

One of the better commercial big bores or medium bore depending on where you were schooled..As to Salt wood I never saw one with salt wood. I owned a couple and recall seeing a few in 458 but not sure they were Brownings just off hand. If salt wood just check the metal under the wood and run!~I had an A5 shotgun with salt wood some years ago and sent it back to Browning and they replaced it. I think they sold those guns in the 1970 to 80s timewise, but wouldn't swear to it..
