Bill CooleyI thought that calf was dead meat but he got away. What a lousey day attacked by lions and a alligator at the same time.
I rember seeing a vidio where some lions were trying to kill a babey el and they coulden't bight through the thick skin.

AtkinsonSorry Boomstick, the Lion is still King, if they could have lured the big herd buff out away from the herd far enough to get him by himself and out of bellowing distance, they would have killed and eaten him.

Nothing in Africa is beyond killing by a pride of Lions, including young adult elephants as a matter of fact. I saw a video taken by a PH friend of mine where a pride killed and ate what looked to be a 3 or 4 year old cow, not a full grown adult but still plenty big.

What about the one lion that got hooked and thrown in the air? Lived or died?
Just guessing, but I would think buff horn in the mid section to be a fatal injury.
