I was already planning on taking it to Tip to have the action smoothed up, but...

When working the action rapidly, the middle round* flips out of the mag well, along w. the empty, but feeds the 3rd one fine...

*I just realized I didn't mark the rounds to see which one was popping out, and which one was feeding.

do you mean when you snap the bolt back on an empty, a round below pops out? first thing is to check the the alignment of the magbox to action on a ruger. second would be to get a stronger spring.

then send to tip

funny, Tip B. has my ruger right now working on the same problem. It was a 7mag converted to 458ar, feeds great except for when you work the bolt really fast, that second rnd, the first from the mag, pops up and right out of the gun. Last time I called he had ordered a new mag box, sping and follower. I hope he can figure it out. I tried three different followers, 2 springs and 2 different mag boxes all with the same problem.

Would putting "lips" in the mag box work?

I was thinking about someone's 505 gibbs that have lips to hold the rims of the cartridges, to prevent the cartridge from being battered by recoil.
