I dont know wheather this is old news but "doctari" has written some articles in a swedish gun magazine and a member from a sweidish forum has mailed him and the answer says that Norma is to start a new line of DG ammo including the 505 Gibbs cartridge and heavy for caliber 375 and 9,3 loadings.

Swedish forum

Time to get the CZ 505 perhaps Smiler

I wonder if Norma will use their own projectles or use Woodleighs and Swift-A-Frames as the reported bullet weights for the proposed 375 and 9.3x62 are the same as Woodleigh and swifts bullet weights?

Its not just .505 Gibbs, but .500 Nitro 3 inch aswell , ,404 Jeffrey and 458 Lott . So there is a bright future for safari ammo. I am sure that tere is Woodleigh bullets since they use it in the .470,but Swift will also be used i think. Oryx is currently made up to .375 HH which they load it with. But if a 416 or 459 Oryx came, i would probably use it in some loads.

And norma has loading data for the .505 in the loading manual aswell, and there ist loaded with Woodleigh 525 grain soft/solid bullets.

My infomration from a forumite from Sweden is that Norma are currently working on at least 12 new big game rounds for a "Safari Line of ammo" the range is hopefully to hit the market I nthe first quarter of 2007 and Kevin Robertson has been consultant on the project and done some of the initial field testing.

So many, thats good to hear, i knew that there were others but hopefully Norma needs some new employees to that time (Wish a place there very much) , but why not the .450 NE that would be very fine for them to make since there is so many doubles and custom Ruger nr 1 in that caliber.

My friend at Norma said that there was a big need for reliable and good safari ammo ,plus that he has toured the S.C.I show many times and they had wanted some more cartridges, and the PHs of Africa and many others too.

not to be grumpy (though at 6am I am) i hope this is better than the CRAP they make as 416 weatherby brass ... severaly rebated, even past the drawing spec, and can vary a couple grains a case.
