Who uses a range of reduced loads in their big bangers?

I don't just mean squib type loads but loads that that take the calibre through several ranges of performance.

For example, I take 378 from 35 Whelen, 375, 375 Wby and full power loads. It saves on shell holders

Does anyone else tend to have different rifles in the same calibre but the rifles are set up differently with loads/scopes etc.

I have found a lot of people are not sure about reduced loads/powders and so on but when I have shown then at the range many of them fall in love with the idea.

It depends on the chambering but with several rifles and pistols,I've always considered two (and sometimes three)loadings to be normal procedure.Sight setting change has to be noted as well as trajectory difference.

well, not really the spirit of the post, but I use, SOMETIMES reduced loads when I am shooting cast bullets, but if it's a 2150fps load, you can get casts hard enough to shoot full power.

the only time I use reduced loads that are otherwise indistingishable from full house loads is when I am training with the rifle.

I have the RCBS mould that drops a 350 gn FP for my 416 Rigby in a Ruger No.1. I load it from 1200 fps up to 1900 fps. The 1200 fps is for turkeys and treestand meat does. The 1900 fps load is for whitetails, boars and black bears. It does an excellant job !

My Ruger Magnum 77 is the cape buff rifle and it gets the full house loads.

I also have 3 model "B" Mausers in 10.75x68 ( 404 Jeffery short ) and I have one just for cast loads and another gets the jacketed hunting loads...........................JJ

For me personally I just have a whole bunch of different rifles that shoot different ammunition.

You do have to check the little numbers stamped on the barrel and the headstamp on the ammo though and I will admit that I've wasted a fair amount of time doing that.
