I bought a used Winchester Mdl 70 Classic, stainless steel, in 375 H&H. The iron sights were crooked so I sent it back to Winchester. They are sending me a new rifle. I want to relpace the synthetic stock with a nice wood stock with cheek piece, checkering and perhaps an ebony forend. I'll then replace the irons with NECG barrel band front, express rear and a barrel band sling attachment. I want a stainless steel safari rifle. Who can build an appropriate stock without getting into too much money? "There are worse memorials to a life well-lived than a pair of elephant tusks." Robert Ruark

Nobody, I'm not trying to be a smartass, but any stock worth having as you describe it will take time, skill and a good blank. None of those are cheap. lawndart

SBT, Try http://www.accurateinnovations.com. They have what seems like a good product at reasonable price. Serengeti Stocks works also offers a drop in after market stock under Zephyr line. Harris The price of knowledge is great but the price of ignorance is even greater.
