Me too. I put the black Decelerator pad on American Classic style stocks but I like the 1" red Decelerator pad on a Whitworth.

Have you shot it? You might like it just the way it is. My Whitworth is not bad with the original red brick it has on it.

Congratulations on the .375, you are going to love it!

I agree with ElCaballero, you should shoot the gun first. I like the red bricks best because they slip into the shoulder nicely.

For bench work I find a thick wool sock folded and placed between but & shoulder to be very effective, at least as good as a Decelerator.

I'm also a Pac.Dec. pad guy. My .404j had the original hard ruber pad & it kicked the crap out of me. The dec. made it bench capable, and they look great.

while we are talking about recoil pads, somebody grab Forrest A's Whitworth in 458 win mag and change the recoil pad.......like getting kicked in the shoulder by a goat..... Smiler, it's hurt worse than Tiggertates 505 Gibbs. But it looks good.

The Shooter's Friend from Cabela's is a slip-on pad for about $18.00. Very wide and 1/2 inch thick. It's nice to have around for TEMPORARY use

It's only a .375H&H, so no "limb saving" should be needed. Wink I luv classic looks of Pachmayr 'Old English'. Fits good, like 'Ole Spice'. thumb
Remember Gucci 'Envy' is not needed when her daddy wears 'Old Spice'! rotflmo

Only way to fire a 375 is with a muzzle brake installed by http://www.probed2000.com. I have one on a 15" encore 30-06 pistol barrel tames it down but i also load it down a bit so it's comfortable to shoot.

If you are recoil sensitive consider these three of my personal favorite pads are Limbsaver, Kick-Eze and Pachmayer's Triple Magnum recoil pad.

Focus on the leading edge!

I have a Limbsaver on a lightweight heavy-recoiling Ruger No. 1 .45/70 and also on a CZ .416 Rigby. Both work very well. have not tried the Pachmayr, so cannot give a comparison between the two.....

I like the Limb Saver more than the Decelerators.

Used to like Pachmayr's Decelerator until I bought a gun with a Kick Eze installed. Now that's the only thing I put on my guns. In fact I'm pulling Decelerators off and changing over to Kick Eze's throughout. Fine even in coldest weather. As for bench shooting, I place a 10lb bag of copper coated lead shot by Lawrence between the pad and my shoulder. Does wonders that way. Blessings.

I put limsavers on my .375 , .458 Lott and .338 Rem.UltraMag. These pads made a lot of difference-especially on the light, sharp recoiling Ultra. They helped immensely.

I use either a Pachmeyer Decelerator or a KickEze on all my guns except my 7x57 and it has a Neidner Steel buttplate.

A caldwell lead sled works great for the bench with some weight on it.

Ditto on Caldwell Lead Sled. Also, a strap-on Past Shoulder Pad for off the bench practice.

I put the Pachymar Dec. on my .375 and it made a HUGE difference from the Win. hard rubber pad. I would say at least a third less felt recoil. It went from painful to almost pleasant!

Tip on installing recoil pads. Freeze the pad before grinding it. You get a much better job out of it. Cool

Action products makes a leather covered pad that has a nylon/velcro fastener. Has a decelerator type absorber, and never hangs up on your shoulder. Great for fast work. I like the Pac/Decs and Limbsavers, but this Action pad is the best for fast work in the timber and elsewhere. I use a magnum Past pad behind it on the bench. 375HH.
