I am in the market for a bullet mould for one of my 10.75x68 B model Mausers.

I would like the weight to be around 350 grains as this one old girl has some miles on her. It was obviously a working rifle. Outside is worn all to hell but the bore and innards are perfect.

Does anyone know who makes a mould that drops a .424 cast lead bullet ?

Thanks in advance.......................JJ

just buy em from
www.customcastbullets.com gas checked and all...

a mould, form neihandtools, will cost you at least 100 bucks, and that's about 350 bullets to break even on the mold, assume FREE lead and GCs.

jj,

if you plan on keeping the rifle and shooting it frequently I would suggest Steve Brooks. His moulds are all lathe-bored; so he can give you exactly what you want if he knows the alloy. If you have one good factory jacketed bullet, he can copy that and although it will be a bit heavier, the bearing surface will be the same, and the extra few grains weight is usually offset by the decreased friction a cast bullet shows over a jacketed. You can also send him a few 44 caliber gas checks and he will cut the shank a tickle smaller so they will size down and crimp on in the H&I die. This time of year he can usually have it to you within two to three weeks from receipt of order and the sample.

The 10,75x68 is a great old cartridge, I am getting a batch of GSC 320 grn bullets, maybe they will work great in the old lady I have.
For now I wil have to seattle with the large batch of DWM 347 grn sn Big Grin

Cheers,

André
