Hey guys, they are just finishing up my MRC .416. I am having NECG "Express" sights and bbl. band put on. The entire rifle will be Stainless, except having a Leupold 1.5-5 in "Matte" finish. My question is Should I have the sights finished in Stainless, or leave them "Matte" black? As far as cosmetic appeal, I am sure the Stainless finish would probably look better, but as far as useability (glare), leaving them Black, may be the way to go....HELP! PS- The stock color will be a dark, dark tan, with black spider. Thanx. Pick what you think you will like but every time someone has a problem seeing their sites they use site-black to darken them or the fibre optic gig. The only easy day is yesterday!

Not only would I choose matt black sights I'd have the whole gun stainless blued or matt Teflon coated. Shiny stainless guns are for wankers. ![]()

So are teflon coated, bead blasted, parkerized obscenities. A number of hunters prefer copper front blades. I've never tried it - yet. Brent When there is lead in the air, there is hope in my heart -- MWH ~1996

Well I like the looks of the Silver/Black combo. Most of my new rifles are stainless and have Blued/Black open sights and when scoped have a Silver scope with Black rings. I feel the Black (Blued) parts lend contrast and "spruce up" the overall looks of the gun. Probably better for glare also ![]() Roi DRSS member Constant change is here to stay.

I agree, black. Just got back from the Quigley Rifle Match in Forsyth, Montana. These people shoot out to 1000 yards, and nobody has a shiny stel colored sight. Blued or parkerized. I admire your choice of the 510 Wells, my version is identical minus the belt on the case. regards, Rich

cmfic1, That's a pretty good looking techno rig! Not too shiny either. ![]() Have you ever seen how nice stainless blued metal looks? I like it. Here are two techno blued stainless guns this one is a M-70 SS in .375H&H ![]() And this one a M-70 with SS in .458 Lott with double butt ugly Houge stock on it. It shot out of it's Brown stock and wore this one temporarily ![]() PS No matter what you decide I'd go with dark sights from a useability standpoint. Best of luck.
