Had eljeffe actually pursued a .375 AR &^^%%#@@$^%^ (explitives censored) it would have actually been larger diameter than the 375 Ruger. It'd have nearly duplicated the 375 Dakota!!!...That's a good deal of muscle!!!

Yes...I know.....and I'm shitting ya....seriously.....you said many times you had no interest in a 375 AR and you held true to your word as much as I twisted your arm.

The cheap way for a (simulated) .375 AR is to buy 375 RUM brass and a die, grind .31 off the bottom of the die and resize the brass and trim to 2.6"

You now have .375 RUM headspaced brass (cheap) that will fit the Standard magnum actions and all you need now is a chamber reamer for the 375 RUM and fit the new resized brass to a chamber.

Everything is standard that way, cheap brass, and all you need to do is alter feed rails a bit....assuming starting with a 7mm Mag action!!!

Then that cheap ass Steve Hornady comes out with the 375 Ruger and all is lost.....I'll go with the Hornday/Ruger standard any time!

I believe the 2840 fps was from the longer 23 in. barrel. What I read said it duplicated .375 H&H ballistics from a 20 in. barrel and that isn't 2840 fps with a 270 grain or 2660 with a 300 grain.

Someone claims the 375 Ruger is based on the RUM case and on the Hornady site they say "it's slightly larger than the 30-06 case."

it's a .532 base, no belt, tapered case, not based off anything ... that is, you couldn't lathe turn a RUM case and get this, as you would weaken the web... but you could make a paperweight out of it.
