that is the question. I have started reloading for my .416 Rigby. Are you guys crimping or not? I am using standard RCBS dies and notice the bullet seats well with good contact in the neck... however don't want compacted loads due to recoil... so is Lee the only folks custom making crimp dies? RCBS dies will crimp, as good as any. Read the instructions. Should crimp. ------------------------------- Will / Once you've been amongst them, there is no such thing as too much gun. --------------------------------------- and, God Bless John Wayne. If the bullet you are using has a bevelled crimping groove (like the Rhino bullets or even the NorthFork bullets) then the RCBS crimp is fine. If you are using bullets with no crimping groove or if the crimping "groove" is in fact a recessed band, then the Lee Factory Crimp works well. I wouldn't use the RCBS crimp on a non-cannelured bullet, I usually get shoulder bulge if I do. _________________________________ AR, where the hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history become the nattering nabobs of negativisim.

I once received the advice from a very experienced African PH that all cartridges from 9.3 and up need a crimp. I´ve stuck with his advice and have not had any problems.
