Which of the English makers created the .470 NE.

Best I can gather, it was Rigby, but have trouble in finding any conclusive data.

Anyone?

Ken's correct. I've noticed in some of the old books (reprints that I have) a hunter will sometimes mention that he used a .470 Rigby. Now, that really means he used a .470 Nitro Express in a rifle made by Rigby. Some of the old timers (and many current ones!) were not up on the exact, proper terminology. i.e.: Many weren’t rifle enthusiasts like most of us. Therefore, they sometimes made statements about their rifles that weren't 100% accurate. Even John Taylor made some mistakes in his books about the proper bullet diameter of some cartridges.

not sure if ass clown is old enough would have to be al gore, after all he did such a good job with the internet. Developing the 470NE would have been easy for him.

Hasn't AC been well behaved lately? He started off on the wrong foot, but I have not noticed any violations of decorum for a long time.
