We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! 'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

No. Art said "machined." The audio quality is poor or maybe Art has a slight lisp like Daffy Duck?
Art is also a bit like Daffy Duck in refusing to calculate foot pounds of free recoil, depending instead on "transferred recoil" measured by what, the "Coil-Chuck" recoilometer?

750-grainer at 2450 fps in a 13.25# Trex with 170 grains of IMR4350 estimated for the 23" barrel ...

I have owned 3 different .460's....from watching the videos on this site, the T-Rex appears to kick much more than any of mine did.
I do have one question, I have heard of sights being machined as part of the barrel, silver soldered, band type, and screwed on....but never heard of a vengeance.....exactly what is it and how does it work? Big Grin

............I couldn,t get the vid to load ,, but I do have some experience with the Coil Check stock ......I think it handles recoil as well as any design can ,., But All it takes is one view of a [CHAMPION] to see there is alot more to recoil than the inventer would want to portray ..Given his disdain for muzzle brakes and therefore his desire to bend reality to meet up with his pre conceived prejudices rotflmo coffee .........Put a nice big muzzle brake on it and it wouldn,t be too bad ,, Not too great tho ..........

.If it can,t be grown , its gotta be mined ....

Sort of like the "Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales."
The machinist spits before machining the sights integral to the barrel?

The Machinist must also be wearing a 5X Beaver Stetson "Revenger" Smoke Brown model, or "The Duke" in Powder Gray, with cavalry acorns and the brim curled nicely all around. All dangling rawhide neck thongs from the hat must be thrown over the back of the machinist/maheenist or tucked inside the shirt so as not to become entangled in the machinery.

That is how I guess that machining is done "with a vengeance." Big Grin

Please do not link the "decapitation and torso transection by drive shaft lathe" photos here.
That is "Mayheming with a Vengeance," totally different from machining or maheening.

My recoil-chunk on 12GA FH and others here
work. You have to hang on. Tailgunner fired
it 6 times in a row and he is smaller
than everyone in the pic of the hunt in
TX jeffe hosted. Of regular pistolgrip
stock design, in live action, best for real
tear-ass recoil. Only thing better
is thumbhole. Sad thing is the the old
timey flowing lines, beautiful shaped, stocks,
don't soak up recoil the best.Ed

I was standing there when they did the interview.
Afterwards, I mentioned the 600 OK and 700 from AHR to Petzal and he said he had never heard of them. I told him he needed to check this forum and get out more...

AA was as full of manure as ever, he dismissed the 550 Gibbs out of hand, saying he only chambered for SAAMI approved cartridges and saw no need for it.
He said they only build to customer order these days, inventory was too much $$$ to keep a good selection on hand. He wouldn't tell me how many (if any) employees they had at the new shop or any timeline on brass or loaded ammunition. All in all, quite a gasbag and huckster.

JMHO based on finally meeting the man face-to-face.

Rich,
you mean that this interview took place THIS year? shesh, I thought I heard 1980 calling, asking for the cheap polyster suits back...

"one standing blade, as it should be" ... they dating or what?

"saami" ... hmm, with NO FACTORY making 577trex, I think art just devalued saami again.. oh, AA is a member of saami... weak sister and all, but AA has never MADE an action, they are a rebarrel shop...

seriously.. this was this year? as obviously stooged stagged as petzal's "questions" where, i can't imagine it was done in the last 15 years...

let's see, here's some SAAMI winners (or, at least, rounds aa has chambered, and by his statements, must be saami)
495 a2 -
500 a2
470 capstick
416 taylor
338-06
577 trex

wow, what a gasbag!

My barb wire line won't download u-tube.
Where did this interview take place, and who
is Petzal. It shame Art is a terrible business
guy. The rework on Enfields and heavy stocks
they make I like. At the 99 shot I met him
and this was at time he was fighting the crappy
deal the ATF pulled on him and he had just survived a terrible car wreck. All gussied up
like a mummy. I wanted to help out his cause and advertize on tv project that Johnny
Rowland and I did that summer but he wasn't
interested.Even offered to do it for couple
stocks, but no go. He's stubborn guy and we
just couldn't get him to beleve that the best way to fight the crooks was out in the open using tv and internet, IE get all the dirty
crap in the light so to speak. It took them years to do it on the QT and I don't think
the business or him will ever recover.
As far 500Asq and Trex brass others have it
so you can get it to reload. Ed

Can't see that he has done much in the way of real innovation or development.

Show me a modern Paul Mauser, John Browning, or Ferdinand Ritter Von Mannlicher and I'll be impressed.

In his manual he claims to have graduated West Point with a degree in "Weapons Systems Engineering." Sorry Art, such a degree doesn't exist!

That should tell you everything you need to know about his integrity, but if you want more, ask any of the 'believers' who got stiffed when his company was 'going out of business yet still accepting deposits' the first time.

The 2-Bore ballistics are impressive. 3500 grainsabout 6 ounces) with over 17K on the energy. Gooooood Lord I couldn't believe the thing drops 10 inches @100 yards though.

Also, who is the inventor of the .550 Gibbs, and how well does the thing headspace?

3500 Grains = 1/2 pound or 8 ounces.

ISS Industries out of Spudhaven Idaho designed the 550 Gibbs I believe. You can catch their chief designer here with his handle "Idaho Sharpshooter".

Welcome to the club Mr. Woodleigh.......
