Can anybody give me a starting load for 505 Gibbs? I would like to use IMR-4350 in front of the Federal 215 primer. The bullet will be a 525 Woodleigh soft. Jim Wisner didn't have access to his reloading notes when I talked with him, but thought that 100 grains would be about right with 140 giving close to factory ammo velocity. I'm not interested in going over factory loadings. Roger Kehr Kehr Engraving Company (360)456-0831

Scrollcutter, The AEM Accuload program I use lists the following load for a 525 Woodleigh in the 505 Gibbs. IMR - 4350 - starting load 94.5 grains for 2140 fps and 33400 psi. Max load - 104.9 grains of IMR - 4350 for 2250 fps and 39100 psi. (Above loads calculated for a 24" barrel.) The A-square manual lists H- 4831, only 1 load, 132 grains of it for 2257 fps and 34 500 psi. It also lists IMR 7828 and RL-22 if you are interested. Hope this helps you out a little, good luck with your 505. H&H Mad.
