Tanker Get hold of Huntington's and see if you can still get some of their 45 Basic brass. It will have to be trimmed to length. Do a chamber cast including the first part of the bore so you can figure out what bullet to use. Bullets may be your biggest problem. A case full of black powder and a paper-patched bullet is the correct recipe although you can probably devise some sort of smokeless/cast substitute if you know what you're doing. I figured it to be a 44-100 but I could be mistaken. The barrel is marked .44 2 6/10. I have not cast or slugged it. It is a Hepburn long range creedmore.

Tanker Don't let the "45 Basic" brass comment throw you off. That IS the correct brass for the 44-100 Remington Creedmoor, 44-90 Remington Straight, and 44 2/16". All the same cartridge. But you really need to do a chamber cast before investing in brass, bullets, dies, etc. Ray Arizona Mountains

If .45 basic brass works for this, .45-100 brass will work cheaper and possibly better. Avoid Bertram's .45 basic as it is split prone and pricey. Brent When there is lead in the air, there is hope in my heart -- MWH ~1996
