Get hold of Huntington's and see if you can still get some of their 45 Basic brass. It will have to be trimmed to length. Do a chamber cast including the first part of the bore so you can figure out what bullet to use. Bullets may be your biggest problem. A case full of black powder and a paper-patched bullet is the correct recipe although you can probably devise some sort of smokeless/cast substitute if you know what you're doing.

Idaho Sharpshooter www.starline.comThey actually make the brass, and you can talk to them.

TankerI figured it to be a 44-100 but I could be mistaken. The barrel is marked .44 2 6/10. I have not cast or slugged it. It is a Hepburn long range creedmore.

Don't let the "45 Basic" brass comment throw you off. That IS the correct brass for the 44-100 Remington Creedmoor, 44-90 Remington Straight, and 44 2/16". All the same cartridge. But you really need to do a chamber cast before investing in brass, bullets, dies, etc.

BrentIf .45 basic brass works for this, .45-100 brass will work cheaper and possibly better.
Avoid Bertram's .45 basic as it is split prone and pricey.
