Kudu: I had this done after reading Ross Seyfried in Rifle on the .450. I used a Ruger No. 1 Tropical in .458 Win Mag. The .450 NE reamer cleans up the chamber, including the belt. It is one of the simpler conversions. Kevin Wyatt did the work using a rented reamer. (www.wyattsoutdoor.com) Just be sure your dies are compatible with the reamer specs. It wasn't bad to shoot, but I would have preferred a longer barrel as I shot it with BP loads as well as smokeless.

Quote: Kuduhunter , I will predict if you re-chamber a Ruger No1 45-70 to 450NE 3.25", you will not have to ask if it went off, when you pull the trigger. ![]() I have a No1 45-70, that was re-chambered to 458 RCBS, and that is about as big as I would recomend, for a rifle that light!
