Best premium bullet
Wondering what everyone favorite premium soft point was for everything from deer on up. Looking at reloading for a few more of my calibers and not sure what to go with

Nosler partition. If hunting Cape Buffalo I'd go with the Banes TSX

As this is the big bore forum, I assume you mean for 375 H&H calibers & bigger. But, you stated deer size and up. So, I assume you mean 'way up' for these calibers.

If we're talking large PG in Africa, I like Nosler Partitions.

If we're talking DG, I like SAF, TBBC & NF.

I like too many "premium" bullets to shake a stick at, including all of those mentioned above so far.
It depends on the firearm too, what it likes best,
in the shooting, and whether the brand of bullet is even offered in the caliber/weight of choice,
of course.

My classification of bullets for hunting is as follows.

First choice, mono metal; like the Barnes X etc. Regardless of manufacturer, as they are all the same in performance.

Second choice are those with a solid shank, like the Trophy Bonded Bear Claws, and Jensen bullets.

Third are partition bullets like the Swift and Nosler.

Forget the rest with a jacket and lead core, unless you are shooting a caliber that is designed for low velocity.

Of course, any of the above has to shoot well in your chosen rifle.

Ive been looking at nosler partitions, woodleighs and swift a frames. Possibly tsx again. I do mostly deer and elk hunting and use my big bores plenty for those (using my 500ne for deer and elk this year).

As Saeed pointed out, there are so many top notch bullets today it is hard to go wrong.

There are no bad bullets,
just poor applications

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

Good mono bullet like the Barnes TSX or in South Africa the Frontier Spartan

Todays bullets are the best of the best..For buffalo I like the 350 gr. in the .375 and the 450 in the 416 or 404, something a little different and really work good with bigger than usual exit holes.. I like Nosler partitions and Accubonds, GS Customs, and the new BarnesX have finally got my attention..Im still a Woodleigh fan, they are great bullets..The old standbys like Hornady Interlocks, Rem corelokts, WW Silvertips suit me just fine for deer and black bear, and will do on elk and African PG for the most part....We certainly don't lack for great bullets in the USA...

I've shot buffalo with Nosler Partitions (when I first started), Woodleigh's, and Swift A Frames of late. They all died.

No need to look for anything else for me from here on out because the performance of the Swifts is outstanding and consistent.

I don't like Barnes (I know, a dissenting opinion) because I had a 400 grain Barnes shed a petal on a 175lb dressed whitetail and deviate severely. Still killed the deer but I wouldn't have been so lucky on a buffalo.
