I subscribe (or used to) to TAR. Looks like enough folks grew tired of reading stories about Glocks in a magazine supposedly devoted to rifles??

Well, it did last longer than Tactical Rifle, which was their first endeavor in publishing another magazine other than Precision Shooting.

Problem was(for me), they shared articles between the two magazines. A lot of articles in some cases.

In my opinion, even Precision Shooting has gotten away from the great articles of 5-10 years ago, where people would clearly outline the way THEY were doing things, and what the results were. Now, they're telling you about 1/3 of it, trying to sell you the rest.

Now there are several noteable exceptions to that statement, but if you're a long time subscriber, think about it for a few minutes.

Part of TAR's demise was the badly written articles, part was the horrible editing. I had a 2-year subscription, which I let lapse after several issues in a row had glaring errors on every page. Either something like "Garand" was misspelled or the writer started in on his wife's sporting clays gun when the article was about elk rifles.

Hopeless.

Very nice article on the 550 Mag. Good kudos toward AR and especially Neal and Mike on the development of this cartridge and rifle. I really appreciate the work Neal put to wards this round and Mike in the execution of the working product. I need to talk to Mike ASAP about getting my 550 rifle in my hands!

Neal- any more range reports/load developments to comment on?

John

Fireball168 and the group,

yeah, sorry to hear TAR is folding, but getting away from a verrrrrrrry successful format kept PS from making a go of it. I know what some of you mean, I wrote for them for several years, back in the day.
