To the Group: Does any know if it is possible and safe to open the boltface on a RSM to 505 Gibbs specs? Also does anyone have a cartridge drawing of the 505 Gibbs that I can use as a referrence. I just got off the phone with Mr Jamison who pointed out to me that I may be pushing my luck opening my ruger up to 505 Gibbs specs. Thanks Brad

Can't remember if was Bowen or Linebaugh but one of the offered converted Ruger RSM rifles in 505 for a reasonable price. "Experience" is the only class you take where the exam comes before the lesson.

As others pointed out this can be done and has been done by a few. Bowen used to offer the RSM conversion. Though I'm sure that his revolver work keeps him and his crew more than busy and he doesn't list any rifle work on his website any longer.

After reading the Big Bore article on the 470 Mbogo website I'm rethinking my Gibbs choice and reconsidering a 500 A-Square now. It looks like I could down load it and it would be simplest conversion to 50 cal???? Rather than trying to get that big bore in my RSM any thoughts?? Thanks Brad
