Dumbest titel I ever invented Smiler

Anywho.. for shooting say max 500 yards, would your rather go with a 338Win mag, or a 375 Taylor?

I cant seem to make up my mind of wich would be better. Both shoot kind of equally..

Would also be used like a all-around gun.

It really does not matter. At that range, what matters is to know the range exactly, thus using a range-finder, knowing your trajectory and how to adjust your scope.

Nortman, a couple questions.

You had not mentioned what you want to shoot with this rifle. We have to put it into perspective here. You want a deer thumper, or a water buffalo thumper?

Are we still talking about the to carts you mentioned, or are we now talking about the 375 WBY or RUM?

338 bullets tend to have a higher BC than 375 bullets(except the 260gr 375 Accubond),and 338 bullets have a higher SD compared to a 375 of same weight.

You can load the 338 Win mag to be an Elk thumper, or load down to even shoot pronghorn.

You can load the Taylor to function like a 375 H&H, or download to function like heavy 338 Win Mag.

Translation? the 375 will carry more KE with heavier bullets, but they may not buck the wind or in some cases penetrate as well as 338 bullets(same weight) since we are talking about long range shots.

My 375 RUM shoots 260gr Accubonds 2" low @ 200, 9" @ 300, 14" @ 400(something like that, I lost my reload notebook!!).
