Just picked up a Ruger M77 in 458WM and would like to know my options for aftermarket sights. The factory front bead is awful small and the rear seems somewhat fragile.

Who makes a decent replacement?

NECG (New England Custom Gun) makes a white 3/32" bead sight specifically for the Ruger. IIRC it comes in four different heights. They are pretty inexpensive.

Ditto on NECG. I have the same gun in 375 H&H. I went with the red fiber optic sight...I should say sights because I bought 2 different "heights" of sights to make sure they closely matched what I took off the gun. I love the fiber optic but the white is good too if you prefer that.

Good luck.

Forgot to mention.....GET IT GLASS BEDDED!!!!
Better yet, I had a 'smith friend of mine add a pillar bedding just forward of the trigger guard...I noticed that I was beginning to get some split wood there.

Good luck.

Instead of the insert just buy the whole front and rear sights. The NECG Masterpiece front and rear sights are beautiful.

Trust me, in a couple of years you won't even remember what the difference in price was. Wink

As mentioned NECG. They also have a peep sight which uses the Ruger ring slot:

I went ahead and ordered a replacement front sight and one of their peep sights. I'll post up some pix and a range evaluation when I receive them.

Thanks,

hangunnr

thanks..
most of us assume the RSM ..

the front sight is the same, and you can get the NECG ruger replacement.

i think you can also get a replacement rear blade, as well.
