Just curious, obviously its been done but I can't really find any info about a 470 on the 458 case. Just browsing through GOTW and noticed the Capstick is a few hundred FPS faster then the 470NE. Wouldn't the regular win mag case, possibly with enough magazine and throat, be able to reproduce the 470NE 500gr loads?

Wouldn't be pretty much the same as comparing both the 458wmag and the lott loaded to the same OAL? If you could seat the bullet out that far the NET capacity would be basically the same.

As usual just my $.02

Outside of the wjnchester oversized barrels 2400 fps is way optimistic. 2300 is closer to reality

I put a couple dummies together for this. Looked like an orange in a sock. Didn't fire form it which would likely have helped. I might makeup some more and expanded the first.

If you want a standard length 475 shooter then please have a gander at my 470 Accrel.

I was just kind of curious about it. Jeffe I've checked out the 470AR, very cool round. If I ever did a 470 of some sort that would probably be it!
