Welcome to AR. Gorgeous work on that rifle - hope to see more of your work.

ALLEN W. JOHNSON - DRSS

Into my heart on air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills,
What spires, what farms are those?
That is the land of lost content,
I see it shining plain,
The happy highways where I went
And cannot come again.

Thank you !..but i still consider my self a amateur Big Grin

The safari style is my favorit, and for the last 2-6 yers almost every stock i made has been in the safari style in some degree !

The funny thing is that the rifles i ben working on these last yer has been chambered for bigger cartridges every time, it started with an 9.3x57 then 9.3x64 brenneke after that 416 t and now 404 j.

You have to host them elsewhere and link to the image URL.

Lots of info here or your can upload them to a Photobucket account and just copy the IMG code into your posts.

Strong, graceful and brooding,

That is a perfect Viking rifle.

Could you tell us where the wood for the stock originated?

It is turkish walnut, i think we gave 7-800 $ for it if i remember it right.

My next "project" is a pair of rifles, one in 7x57 and one 416 ruger.

Have just ordered the wood for these 2 rifles and i hope that i can post some pictures sometime after christmas eve.

I have a new homepage (it's not 100% done yet but i am working on it !) So far it is only in swedish..but maybe i try going international and do a english version Big Grin

Greeting from Finland, good job on the rifle.

I have a Björkholm built 404 Jeff and I also use the Woodleighs.
Here's some of my loads using Vihtavuori powders, they have been
succefully tested on buffalo in Central Africa.

Woody 400 gr round nose: 81 gr N550
Woody 400 gr fmj: 79.5 gr N550
Woody 450 gr round nose: N550 76 gr

You could use the N150 as well, but i prefer the N550.

Thank you, I will try the N550, but I will wait until, at least, spring 2010 due to the weather conditions in Sweden compared to Zimbabwe in september.
