700 ahr...new chambering coming out
i was on the phone today with ahr talking rifles of course.......and a 700 ahr has been on the drawing board and is ready to go into the building phase......he will keep me updated on this project as it develops.

if it more reliable than the 700 nitro this could be my new 700.

ballisticly it will shoot a 1000 grain fmj at 1900-2200fps.

i really do love the 700 caliber and hopfully this will turn out to be a better choice than the 700 nitro and its inherent ignition problems .

Why not??? But you may have to put wheels under it first beer

18-21 lbs???? If shot at 2100-2200 fps.

This is good news for 700 nut like me.
That gets more guns out there for big cases.
They plan on large rifle primer, giving
same kind of ignition as 700NE...........
So my short version with good
primers.....well you know the rest...Ed

GEE WIZZ, when I bought the 700 nitro, I talked with 700 nitro and safari kid and no one mentioned inherent ignition problems then. I have had no hang fires over the last 10 months with the 700 nitro Searcy double. I specifically asked this question from both previous owners and they said "no problems". HMMMMMMMMM

i corrected the problem........but if the loads are not corrctly manufactured it can be a problem.....

but rolling your owen solves this.

i used the rifle on three more hunts after my arfican one with zero problems.

bigdoggy - do you reload? A few times I
read about 700NE ignition problems and have
duplicated same in our 12GA FH testing
with regular primers.A lot of the loads listed,
show using starter powder.Nice thing about
this, another US company ,will be making a
supply of 700 size actions, and ignition,
calibers, cartridges, use, etc,
can be solved on down the line.Ed

Steve ,
Thanks for clearing that up for me. I still have a few of the rounds left that I got from Tom. Ed, I have not done alot of reloading in the past. I have not reloaded any 700 nitro yet. My 510 kodiak express should be here in March. I will be reloading for it and hope to reload some 700 nitro loads then.
